Audiovisual Heritage and its Uses at the Swiss Public Broadcaster: A Dialogue on Opportunities and Constraints for Archives and Academics

Conjointly conceived by an archivist at the Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS, French speaking PSB) and two media historians, this paper aims discussing diversity of uses digitised AV heritage in Switzerland through lenses their professional experience. It focuses on RTS as a particularly productive case study since has not only been pioneer digitising promoting its holdings to broader audience, but it also actively develops new tools for internal use, particular speech text technologies more recently AI-based automation image treatment analysis, datamining tools.
